  Process for a Zoning Text or Map Change: Planning Commission - Issue is presented to 5 members commission. The commission must make a recommendation to council within 30 days. First Reading - Introduction of the issue at a Council Meeting. Issue must receive majority vote to move forward. Public Hearing - Opportunity for council to receive input from the public at large on the issue. No vote is taken at the public hearing. Second Reading - Final vote at a Council Meeting to adopt or fail the issue. Council Meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month at 700 Paris Ave. (Special Meetings are occasionally convened, with proper public notice.) Public Hearings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 700 Paris Ave. (Special Public Hearings are occasionally convened, with proper notice.)
